The Manchester Garden by Exterior Architecture, Chelsea Flower Show Silver Medal 2019

Exterior Architecture: award-winning landscape architects appointed to create a stunning garden landscape for our Independent Living Development, Mulberry Court

Sep 21, 2020

“The shared gardens will blend original historic features with contemporary design to create both beautiful and practical spaces for home owners to enjoy: shaded terraces for outdoor dining, open lawns for events and exercise and as well as tranquil, secluded corners.”

Thoughtful, creative design is at the heart of what we do at Lifestyle Residences, and that extends to the attention we pay to the gardens and landscaped settings of our developments, as much as to our buildings and interiors.

We’re delighted that for our latest development, Mulberry Court, a stone’s throw from the banks of the Thames in Hampton Wick, we will be collaborating with the talented team at Exterior Architecture, award-winning landscape architects that took home a silver medal at the 2019 Chelsea Flower Show.

The firm was founded in 2003 by Sam Martin. We were drawn to Exterior Architecture’s collegiate style of working, and the consideration the team gives to planning for planting that can really connect with the people a garden is designed to be used by. Their approach was illustrated at Chelsea in 2019, where we first saw their work. In their design for The Manchester Garden, an Exterior Architecture team led by Design Associate Hélène Saulue explored planting for a range of urban environments, taking home a well-deserved Silver Medal.

Exterior Architecture’s experience runs from small private gardens, through to iconic public realm projects such as the setting for the new residential buildings at Battersea Power Station.

They’re renowned for the quality and innovation of their work, and we’re confident they will do justice to the stunning setting of Mulberry Court, just a stone’s throw from the River Thames in Hampton Wick. This development gives buyers the opportunity to ‘downsize to their dream lifestyle.’ The shared gardens will blend original historic features with contemporary design to create both beautiful and practical spaces for home owners to enjoy: shaded terraces for outdoor dining, open lawns for events and exercise and as well as tranquil, secluded corners.

With Sam, Hélène and a creative Exterior Architecture team already working hard, designs are now beginning to take shape, so watch this space for more details.
